Magie DominicMagie was born in Newfoundland, Canada, and studied at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and New School University. Her writing and artwork have been published, printed, exhibited, or produced in more than 100 quarterlies, newspapers, magazines, anthologies, theater productions, librettos, art galleries, and books. One of the founding members of the Off-Off Broadway movement of the 1960s, she has walked with Ginsberg and given poetry readings with Moondog. She created, produced, and directed The Children’s History Theater in upstate New York from 1979–1984. Magie’s writing includes poetry, short stories, essays, and nonfiction. Her book The Queen of Peace Room was nominated for three awards, including the Book of the Year Award from ForeWord Magazine. Her art work includes installation, collage, illustration, and photography, and has been exhibited in Toronto and New York, including a presentation at the United Nations.
