T&W provides 2-hour professional development workshops in the writing genre of your choice or cross-disciplinary writing, led by a T&W writer and tailored to your school’s needs. Workshops may also focus on working creatively to help students achieve learning standards in English, the arts, and other disciplines. Our professional development workshops offer:

  • Hands-on writing exercises that immerse workshop participants in the process of writing.
  • Concrete and creative ideas, solutions, and lessons that teachers can take directly into their classrooms.
  • One free T&W book for each participant.

Cost & Benefits

T&W Program Costs: A T&W 2-hour professional development workshop costs $750. Each additional hours costs $200.

Benefits of T&W Professional Development Workshop: As a part of T&W’s professional development workshop, all participating teachers will receive a complimentary copy of a T&W book on the teaching of writing appropriate to the population of the teacher’s students and the literary genre covered during the workshop.

(Note: No résumés will be accepted without the completed application form.)

Writers working with T&W are experienced, dynamic teachers committed to inspiring the love of language and writing in their students. T&W writers have published their work in books and in national magazines such as the New Yorker, Essence, and the New York Review of Books, and they have won many awards. They offer students a glimpse into the life of a writer, and inspire the students to create their own literary art.
